Our printed toppers are printed on edible wafer paper which is not as dense as normal paper. Once they are placed on a white background such as icing sugar their colours will show through.

Wafer paper decorations can be used to decorate confectionery goods such as cakes, cupcakes and cookies. As a matter of fact wafer paper is commonly referred to as edible rice paper even though it is not made from rice but from a combination of water, vegetable oil and potato starch.

Wafer paper decorations make a fantastic alternative to the more expensive icing decorations. We offer a choice of flavoured and printed decorations including toppers, butterflies, hearts and flowers, all produced using high quality wafer paper and wafer card. Our products have a six month “Best Before End” date. Keep sealed in an air tight bag and store in a cool place avoiding direct sunlight and moisture.

Instructions

There are two important things to always remember when applying our edible wafer paper cake decorations to your cake creations, these are the following,

1. The colour intensity will improve if placed on a pure white base.

2. Wafer paper is very sensitive to moisture, if your base is too wet it can cause the colours to smudge and the edges of the paper to curl up and dissolve.

When fixing our butterflies simply use a small wooden cocktail stick and gently press down along the length of the body causing the wings to lift upwards.

Butter Cream and Plain Icing

If you are using butter cream or plain icing (icing sugar and water mix) then it is best to leave it for as long as possible so a crust is formed before adding the topper. If you do apply directly to a wet base the rice paper will more than likely curl upwards around the edges.

1. Wait for a crust to form on base topping.

2. Cut out the topper leaving a slight border around the edge of any printing.

3. SLIGHTLY moisten the base topping where the topper is to be placed.

4. Place topper on and press gently all over to ensure adhesion.

Whilst selling the standard size cupcake wrappers we realised that not all cupcakes, muffins and cakes are the same size so we decided to offer wrapper "pieces". These can be joined together to make any size needed for muffins and cakes as well as standard cupcake wrappers. For a standard cupcake size wrapper, two pieces will be needed.

In all of our wrappers you may find some cut out pieces still in the wrapper. This is normal and just part of the die cutting process, they can usually be removed by a gentle shake or using a needle or similar to just poke them out. Another point to mention is that sometimes the slot for the fixing tab is not quite fully cut, you just need to adjust the slot using a little pair of sharp scissors. Depending on how many wrapper pieces you fix together you may need to trim around the bottom slightly in order for the completed wrapper to sit flush.

While deciding on what designs to use, we did notice that the music note wrapper pieces have been designed backwards. This means that when fixing them together the pieces need to be inside out for the notes to show in the correct way. We are not to happy about this and will be replacing the note wrappers in the future but please bare this in mind when making a purchase.

For more information about recycling visit: https://www.recyclenow.com/

We are looking into alternative packaging for our products however as we need our bags to be re-sealable we have not found anything suitable. The current alternatives are so expensive which would mean that we would have to increase our prices dramatically to cover this cost which is just not feasible. So for the time being we ask that you recycle our plastic bags and paper that are included in our packaging until we find a better option.

We are able to do some custom designs and have the cutting equipment to do so however these designs come at a price depending on various factors. Please Contact Us if you have any questions or would like any more information. This website does not and will not print any copyrighted material.

Appologise but our custom designs are temporarily unavailable.

Wafer paper and wafer card are susceptible to weather conditions especially really cold and really warm. In warm weather the ink dries quicker than normal and this can make the wafer paper, especially wafer card more brittle with some colours. Extra care may be needed when transferrring them on to your bakes.
